Following the reveal of five new interior designs at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Dutch shipyard Oceanco has released 12 new exterior renderings for its 80-metre Simply Custom range.
The Simply Custom collection was created as a means to simplify the commissioning process, offering clients a proven naval platform by Lateral Naval Architects. Oceanco's portfolio features 27 designs, including the new exteriors from the likes of Cor D. Rover, De Basto Designs, Phi Design Lab, Pininfarina and Sinot.

Standby
Designer Jay Aberdoni is the mind behind this concept, described as a "gentleman’s yacht". Standby is characterised by a masculine exterior silhouette, completed by floor-to-ceiling glazing and a near-vertical bow. A layering effect is achieved by her extended overhangs, each supported by a defined pillar. The yacht houses a Jacuzzi, white sunpads and ample al fresco dining spaces across four decks.
"Her design represents a visual dare, dancing amid classic lines and modern, simple surfaces, chasing the perfect balance between the two styles," added Aberdoni. "Between the past and the future. Standby’s thoughtful features and design combine to deliver an affair beyond the ordinary."
Concorde
Designed by Clapot Design and taking her name from the supersonic aircraft, Concorde was designed to symbolise "harmony, balance and refinement". Her exterior profile, as shown in the renderings, is characterised by elongated sheer lines which extend from stern to stern. These lines create a "longer, sleeker appearance" in contrast to her dark stern, according to the designer, with the openness of her decks reflecting the same aesthetic on board.
Key features of Concorde include an extendable swim platform which leads into a beach club and a wellness area. The space is completed with fold-out terraces, whilst on her main deck guests will find an open pool area.
Fabrice Clapot of Clapot Design said: "[She] embodies our vision for enjoying life on the water in elegance and comfort: an oceanic liner with the ambience of a beach house."
MERtropolis
Renderings of MERtropolis, designed by Cor. D. Rover, reveal an exterior profile with clear, continuous lines that define each deck level. The yacht offers a darker upper structure, with the option for either a flared or plumb bow. Interiors would feature natural wood ceilings, wood deckhouses and bronze-tinted windows for a warm and contemporary aesthetic, complemented by bronze door frames.
A swim platform – equipped with a pool and sunpads – a large helipad found at the yacht’s bow and plenty of open deck space completes the list of leisure amenities on board.
Cor D. Rover added: "We envisage this yacht to be practical as well as ground-breaking, aligned with Oceanco’s reputation, while at the same time being completely at home across the world’s oceans – as if she would express, ‘The sea is my metropolis'".
Real
Real is owed to Daroca Design and is described by designer Alejandro Crespo as a "true reflection of a desire for sleek minimalism and perfect proportions". As such, her exterior proposal integrates into the natural landscape, comprising flowing lines and curved details found on her superstructure.
Her design includes a beach club which is fitted with two pools, providing direct access to the water from a swim platform. The concept also illustrates glass bulwarks and generous lounging spaces, with white furnishings to complement a contemporary aesthetic.
Studio CEO and designer Alejando Crespo said: "More than a yacht, Real is a symbol of sincerity and distinction. With smooth, flowing lines, it offers an experience of refined elegance".
Volare
First launched at this year's Monaco Yacht Show. Volare – meaning "to fly" in Italian – stems from the drawing boards of De Basto Designs, who described her as "visual poetry". Her "floating superstructure" effect, flowing lines and curved upper deck is said to evoke the action of a white heron skimming the water’s surface.
One standout feature is the circular seating area on her upper deck, with lounging space positioned around a central fire pit.
Chief designer Luiz de Basto said: "This masterpiece not only glides effortlessly across the water, it invites you to soar beyond the ordinary, to explore the boundless possibilities of your imagination."
Ardour
With her name meaning "great passion or enthusiasm", Ardour is designed by Demetrius Tanase and tailored to navigating Mediterranean and Caribbean waters. Renderings show a cascading, five-tiered exterior that houses, among other amenities, a forward Jacuzzi on her upper deck and an aft pool on her main deck.
Tanase described wanting a "timeless" design for this yacht. As such, Ardour is designed with a suite of warm colour tones, golden details and curved lines.
Tanase also added that Ardour is envisioned for "an accomplished owner who cherishes the sea and seeks an enriched and captivating experience".
MTT Voyageur
MTT Voyageur is influenced by automotive and aviation design and comes from the drawing boards of Swiss studio Messerschmitt Yachts. Taking inspiration from these industries, exterior renderings reveal a four-deck layout, with refined lines and large windows integrated into the superstructure. With room for flexibility in her design, deck arrangements can be adaptable in accordance with the owner’s tastes.
Designer Felix. P. Messerschmitt described MTT Voyageur as "more than a yacht" and noted the vessel’s suitability for long-range cruising and exploration.
Messerschmitt added: "It reflects my personal passion for travel and exploration. It is crafted for an owner who seeks adventure, constant discovery and the joy of exploring the world’s oceans."
Aurora
According to North West Boatworks, Aurora is meant to capture the "beauty and light" of the Roman Goddess from whom she takes her name. In particular, designer Alex Fogg highlighted the concept's "unique use of glass, light and space", with large, curved glazing dominating the exterior profile.
The proposal also shows areas for leisure and direct water access, featuring an open swim platform, a fold-out balcony, and large sunpads arranged across the decks.
Fogg said: "Aurora breaks away from a more conventional tiered yacht design, sculpting the interior spaces and exterior form in harmony, as uncompromising as the dawn."
Essentia
Essentia's exterior lines, by Italian studio Phi Design Lab, are inspired by the movement of sand when shaped by ocean waves. The design has a classic white exterior, gently curved lines and a red boot stripe that provides a pop of colour. On the leisure side, four decks house a beach club with a fold-out platform, ample lounging and dining areas and three pools.
Founder of Phi Design Lab, Giovanni Griggio, commented: "Essentia's design was born from a desire to make the most of the exterior spaces on a yacht, creating staggered levels to provide convivial areas that are dynamic and not monotonous."
KAIROS 80
This addition to the Simply Custom range has been adapted from a 90-metre collaboration between Pininfarina and Oceanco in 2021, known as Kairos. The new and improved Kairos 80 is defined by unconventional lines, that gives each deck a distinctive shape from a bird's eye view.
Chief transportation designer of Pininfarina, Daniele Mazzon, explained: "On KAIROS 80, time, space and people connect to be one in the moment. The owner and their guests are at the epicentre of the onboard experience, and the surrounding space."
Constellation
Constellation was designed with the intention of bringing people together, as her designer Sander J. Sinot explained: "This is a yacht where friends, family and invitees from all over the world can meet onboard."
Exterior renderings reveal a stacked appearance, comprising straight, continuous lines and a light-grey hull. Each deck boasts expansive views thanks to the glass facades lining her structure. Standout features include a beach club with fold-down hatches and an aft pool deck.
Sinot said: "Beyond exclusivity, we see Constellation as subtle, harmonious, dedicated and personal. Owners nowadays are more free to explore the world and have their own agendas, more so than ever."
Lassel
In an homage to explorer Richard Lassel, who is credited with creating the concept of "grand touring", Lassel is designed for global-cruising. Her exterior renderings reveal flowing lines from bow to stern, with an expansive aft deck area and large windows which offer uninterrupted views.
Standout features of this yacht include a glass-walled swimming pool located on the main deck and a helipad situated at her stern.
Designer Tony Castro stated: "In naming her Lassel, we hope our Simply Custom design captures the origin of the grand touring adventures and experiences, now wrapped in all the majestic elegance and innovative design that only a Oceanco yacht can have".
Each yacht in the collection will measure 80 metres and sit between 2,500 to 2,700 GT.
This follows the reveal of new interior designs from five studios at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
