Milanese studo Hot Lab, a part of Viken Group, has offered a first look inside the custom, 34.6-metre explorer yacht Mereley I. The superyacht, which is said to bring a "dynamic and sporty spirit" to the explorer yacht platform, was christened at AES Yacht's Istanbul site in August 2024.
She is ready for delivery, currently listed for sale with Deniz Kaymaz of Northrop & Johnson at an asking price of €13,950,000.
Designed inside and out by Milan-based studio Hot Lab, Mereley I has a six-cabin layout and carries a complement of seven crew. The full-beam owner's suite is located at the bow and comes with a central king-sized bed, office space, walk-in-wardrobe and forward en suite. Fitted with extensive glazing, the suite's dark woods and marble details are brightened significantly by natural light.
Living spaces are contemporary, using a mix of monochrome tones offset by splashes of cool blue and bright turquoise. Key materials include oak and lacquered finishes and resins, though Hot Lab has also utilised 3D-textured surfaces for added character. "We wanted the interiors to feature many reflections," explained designer Enrico Lumini. "Partly to trick the eye and partly to bring the bluish hues of the sea into the spaces."
Natural light is a key design element of the yacht's social spaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows illuminate the skylounge, which benefits from a bar, lounge area and direct deck access through sliding glass doors. The main saloon has an alternative lounge area, which is adjoined by formal dining for up to 10 guests.
Aft of the lower deck is the beach club area, which is compact and well-designed with skylights that contribute to the sense of space. A large, integrated swimming platform and tender storage complete the space.
In terms of al fresco living, the yacht has a sundeck with a forward Jacuzzi, various seating options and a bar. The upper deck has an exterior dining arrangement, while an alternative lounge space can be found at the main deck cockpit, well-suited to sunbathing and relaxing.
The foredeck has a fourth seating space that offers prime views from two sunpads and a pair of coffee tables.
"Mereley I is a perfect example of how it is possible to build a magnificent yacht from scratch in Turkey, featuring cutting-edge characteristics and top-tier aesthetic and technical finishes," said Antonio Romano, co-founder at Hot Lab. "I am confident that she will be successful in the charter market and soon make an owner very happy."
Powered by twin MAN engines, Mereley I has a top speed of 14 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles when cruising at 11.5 knots.
Alongside two sub-40-metre models, AES Yacht is also constructing the 68-metre Ice, which is currently for sale with Fraser. The yacht is a fellow Hot Lab design, with unfolding sea terraces, impressive head heights and a sizeable aft deck swimming pool.
