Nautor’s Swan has issued a construction update on the first in-build 17.96 metre Swan 58 sailing yacht.
The hull of the yacht has now been removed from the mould at the yard's facility in Kållby, Finland. It will undergo a quality check before being transported to the Boat Technology Centre to begin assembly. Work on the interiors and electrical components is also underway.
It comes after Nautor's Swan first revealed the bluewater sailing yacht at the boot Düsseldorf show earlier this year.
Penned by long-term Nautor's Swan design collaborator Germán Frers, the Swan 58 has been inspired by modern ocean racers.
Key details include an exterior featuring soft and rounded shapes, a new cockpit design, a redefined coach-roof style and large swimming platform at the stern.
Accommodation is for six guests in an owner’s suite forward and two guest cabins aft, with the option of a fourth cabin amidships for additional guests or crew. Additionally, there is the option to have a crew cabin in the forepeak.
The interior, which is fitted with European oak, is also equipped with a large saloon, galley with a 360 degree layout and three heads. Various interior styling layouts are available based on different thematic moods and employing varying woods and materials.
Revealing the new model, the Finnish yard said: “58 is a new number for the Swan family–there has never been a model of this size before, but, like every new Swan, the 58 is the result of a long and accurate process of evolution and development, through many different models around this size.”
