Composite boatbuilder McConaghy Boats has added a new flagship model to its multihull fleet, the MC115.
The 35-metre model is the largest in its range of catamarans and is designed to bridge the gap between the production boat market and the superyacht sector.
It follows on from the smaller 30.5-metre MC100 but features an enclosed flybridge with further scope for customisation. With the helm station on the flybridge at the mast foot, the main deck is dedicated entirely to socialising with the master suite forward and illuminated by skylights.
In a departure for this performance-focused brand, a recessed bow lounge with a Jacuzzi can be accessed directly through the master cabin thanks to a forward door, or via wide side decks that connect the space to the aft deck lounge and hydraulic swim platform.
The aft deck features an al fresco dining space with glass windbreaks offering protection from the elements.
Accommodation is for 12 guests in six cabins, supported by a crew of four, but the precise configuration can be tailored to suit each owner.
Taking inspiration from more typical superyacht arrangements and moving away from traditional catamaran layouts, the galley is below deck in the starboard hull.
As with all McConaghy Yachts, the MC155 will be built in composite, with a beam of 12.5 metres and a draught of 1.8 metres with the centreboards up. Power will come from two 370hp engines and the model will be Bureau Veritas classed.
“The MC115 is a wind-speed yacht, and with true wind speed of 20 knots and the boat at 100 degrees, she will comfortably achieve 21 knots,” says managing director Mark Evans.
