Studio Marco Casali Design has revealed an eco-focused 56.7-metre superyacht concept complete with a retractable roof of solar panels.
Dubbed VisionE, the concept features an aluminium hull and was penned by the studio in collaboration with Francesco Rogantin.
Speaking about the design, the studio said: “VisionE is the first unit in a series of concepts we are going to show with the intent of following the requirements for a sustainable way of living and yachting.”
Design highlights include the aft deck which can be used as a basketball court and doubles up as an outside cinema in the evening. The multi-purpose area has a covered pool in the centre which can also be used as tender storage.
Sitting beneath the solar panel roof is an open 150sqm sun deck that hosts a spa pool, alfresco dining area and lounging space.
The retractable panels slide open to reveal additional sun lounging space, while on either side of the hull are four foldable terraces at sea level.
The concept’s eco-focused propulsion system is comprised of electric generators and a large battery pack powered by the solar panels on the concept’s roof. One alternative the studio is weighing up is to power the concept with hydrogen. Powered by the hybrid system, the concept’s top speed is 14 knots.
Accommodation is for a total of 14 guests in seven cabins, as well as a crew of 12.
