Italian shipyard Mangusta has revealed a new 51.1-metre edition of its steel and aluminium displacement Oceano series. Presented by parent company Overmarine during the Monaco Yacht Show, the new model was developed by Overmarine's Engineering Department and Alberto Mancini and features a "first of its kind" pool that sits on the beach club right on the water's edge.
The first unit in the series is already under construction at Overmarine's facilities in Pisa and has been built off the back of "thorough market analysis" into how clients use and enjoy their yachts.
Building on the popularity of the smaller Oceano yachts, the new model will be the flagship of the line but will not replace the existing Oceano 50, according to the yard.
Crucially, it will sit under the 500 GT threshold and will be focused on blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces by using curved glass walls and maintaining clean, clutter-free decks. The yacht will have Mangusta's signature foredeck pool but will differ from previous models by introducing the owner's cabin on the upper deck, leaving the main deck free for two VIP cabins.
“Following a thorough market analysis, we decided to redefine our concept in the 500 GT segment, introducing unprecedented features in this yacht class; across all decks, innovation and modularity allow the Owner to enjoy the lifestyle of a mega yacht” said Mangusta's President Americas Stefano Arlunno.
Shipyards announced several other new models during the Monaco Yacht Show, with both Tankoa and Riva presenting new products to the market.
