Cornish studio LP Design UK has unveiled a new 44.2 metre explorer motor yacht named EXO 144.
Designed as the entry-level model in the studio’s EXO range, the yacht has a more compact footprint with a beam of 8.5 metres, a range of 4,000 nautical miles and a GT of less than 500.
“After having introduced the 57 metre and the 63 metre [models], we felt that an offering in the smaller end of the explorer superyacht market is essential for us,” said Richard Liebowitz, owner of LP Design UK.
LP Design UK hopes to soon announce a partnership with a notable shipyard to further develop the build specification, pricing guide, and potential delivery date.
With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she is designed to accommodate 12 guests and eight crew members. Decks are thoughtfully laid-out with the master suite located on the upper deck which serves as a "penthouse" suite with generous views.
Other highlights include an observation deck and a beach club that serves as the arrival lobby for guests joining the vessel in port or at anchor.
The interior of EXO 144 has a fresh character, with a contemporary theme and neutral tones. There are various seating and functional areas; shaded dining, lounges and a sizeable pool on the boat deck allow different members of groups or families to get together and socialise or enjoy time on board separately.
The EXO Explorer range is underpinned by a “no elements for the show" design philosophy. Liebowitz added that “each functional and aesthetic element should work to reinforce the underlying concept. Our vision is based on elegance, exemplary functionality, expansive exterior views, and ample storage.”
The main engines envisioned are twin Caterpillar C32 895kw models giving her a cruising speed of 11 knots and a top speed of 14 knots.
