Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts has announced the sale of Project Angelica, the latest addition to its 55-metre Steel Class series.
The client is "an experienced superyacht owner" who has requested some modifications to tailor the model to his lifestyle. Delivery is scheduled for Q2 of 2027, after which Project Angelica will join sisterships such as Iris Blue, Moskito and Reliance on the water. The first unit in the series, Azamanta, made history upon her delivery as the world’s first fast displacement, steel-hulled yacht above 50 metres LOA.
Like her sisterships, Project Angelica will feature a Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) developed by Van Oossanen and a rugged Omega Architects exterior, while Italian studio Luca Dini Design & Architecture has been selected for the interiors. Accommodation will be for 12 guests across seven suites, with the model's impressive volume of 760GT allowing for "extensive customisation opportunities". More details will be revealed as the build progresses.
"The vision for Project Angelica was both challenging and inspiring, engaging our design and engineering teams as they crafted innovative solutions to meet the client’s specific requirements," explained Ruud van der Stroom, CCO of Heesen Yachts. "We are thrilled to welcome this client to the Heesen family and look forward to creating a superyacht that will be a remarkable addition to our fleet."
Project Angelica will reach a top speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles when cruising at 13 knots.
The sale follows the announcement that Heesen Yachts had begun on the second hull in its "new class" of high-speed aluminium superyachts. The yacht is known as Project Evita and will be delivered at a similar time to Project Angelica.
