Dutch shipyard Heesen has started construction on the second hull in its "new class" of high-speed aluminium superyachts. Delivery is scheduled for Q2 of 2027.
The 56.7-metre is known as Project Evita and has the same design team as sistership Santosha, including Omega Architects on exterior design and British studio Harrison Eidsgaard on interiors. A top speed of 22 knots at half load is combined with a shallow, 2.3-metre draft for a build "perfectly suited" for cruising the Bahamas – which the yard maintains is a "rare feature for a yacht of this size and volume".
"To achieve such a high top speed, the yacht must be lightweight, so we are naturally building in aluminium – something that we here at Heesen have elevated into an art form over the years," said Peter van der Zanden, general manager of Design and Development at Heesen. "The vertical bow guarantees a long waterline length for maximum efficiency and speed potential, while the aft end is composed of complex sweeping curves." He concluded that Project Evita will be "unmistakable when she enters a new harbour".
The social hub is set to be the main deck aft, arranged with a dip pool flanked by sunpads and complemented by a lazarette for water toy storage. Accommodation is for up to 12 guests across six cabins, with quarters for 13 crew and a central elevator connecting all decks.
The yacht is being built on spec and is currently for sale. Further details will be released as the build progresses.
This announcement comes at a busy time for the Dutch yard, with another new build announced earlier this month. The 50-metre yacht, known as Project Grace, was first presented as a concept at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show and is now under construction in Friesland, the Netherlands.
