The Ferretti Group has launched the first Riva 88 Folgore model.
The 26.8 metre yacht was launched in La Spezia on Monday, May 25, marking the first launch of a new Riva model since the coronavirus outbreak began.
First presented at the boot Dusseldorf show in January, the project features automotive-inspired design penned by Officina Italiana Design, the Ferretti Group Engineering Department and Product Strategy Committee.
Combining luxury and sporty design, the yacht features a redesigned stern concept with a garage door that swings open to sit in two different positions; parallel to the waterline and immersed in the water to launch and retrieve the tender.
Elsewhere, the Riva 88 Folgore features a 22 square metre cockpit with a large sofa, table and bar unit with an electrically opening marble top.
A glass hardtop on the superstructure opens up to allow a fresh breeze into the boat during navigation or at anchor.
The customisable interior features three different master cabin layouts. The rest of the accommodation comprises a VIP cabin at the bow and two double ensuite cabins. The galley meanwhile is accessed via a dedicated entrance. Key interior materials include wood, steel, marble and glass.
Speaking about the new model, Ferretti Group chief executive, Alberto Galassi, said: “Riva 88’ Folgore looks like a vessel just back from a journey into the future: she is a dazzling flash of style, she is strength, she is performance, she is innovation.”
The first launch for the company “represents new Renaissance for the Ferretti Group,” he added.
