Hybrid 80m Feadship superyacht Faith sighted on transport

19 March 2025 • Written by Dea Jusufi

The 79.9-metre Feadship superyacht Faith (Project 714) has been spotted on transport from Aalsmeer, the Netherlands to the North Sea, where she will presumably begin sea trials. The superyacht will then undergo final outfitting ahead of her delivery this year.

The new build is the successor to the 96.6-metre Faith (now Sophia), one of the Dutch yard's largest launches to date (and known for her innovative "snow room"). Very little detail has been disclosed on the new Faith since construction began in early 2021, though British studio RWD has been confirmed as exterior designer, with naval architecture by Feadship De Voogt.

New imagery reveals characteristic Feadship lines, including a subtle clipper bow and expansive on-deck space, as well as a blue and white colour scheme shared with another recent Feadship, the 75.8-metre One

Speaking of sharing, Project 714 has the same diesel-electric power system as the 84.2-metre Obsidian, which has 4.5 times more electrical storage capacity than the Dutch yard's first hybrid yacht, Savannah. The propulsion and steering are delivered by two contra-rotating thrusters, which eliminate the need for traditional drive shafts and rudders, significantly reducing drag and enhancing efficiency.

Key specs include a 13.6-metre beam, an approximate volume of 2,500GT and a draught of 3.9 metres.

According to BOATPro, Feadship has 18 yachts currently under construction. This includes the 101.2-metre Project 1014, which was last seen entering outfitting in November 2024. The Dutch yard also celebrated the launch of 101-metre Project 1013 – now known as Moonrise – earlier this week.
