Horizon Yachts has launched a 27.4 metre custom FD90 superyacht.
Commissioned by a Horizon E88 owner looking to upgrade, the FD90 features a number of customisations to suit the owners who cruise with their three dogs.
The owner approached the yard to design and build a yacht based on the FD Series profile and hull form. It features a three cabin layout, with all three cabins located on the lower deck to free up the main deck for entertaining.
Accommodation comprises two VIP cabins and one full beam master located amidships. The crew quarters meanwhile allows for a staff of four. Accommodation customisations have also been made for the owners’ dogs, which include a special windowsill ledge in the dinette area for the dogs to sit on.
The owners also stipulated the need for a country kitchen, which is located forward of the main deck where the master stateroom traditionally sits. A staircase from the galley leads up to the skylounge and down to the lower deck.
The foredeck features a sunpad and Jacuzzi and barriers have been erected around the deck to enable the owners’ dogs to run around safely.
Speaking about the yacht, the owner said: “Horizon’s willingness to modify their design is limited only by your imagination and your pocketbook.
“Our dogs also played into the design and Horizon made numerous modifications to keep them safe aboard while cruising.”
Delivery is scheduled for November after which the owners will use the yacht in the Caribbean and along the east coast of the US.
