Spanish yacht design studio Daroca Design has unveiled its latest 83-metre superyacht concept named Mirage.
Mirage has been designed in collaboration with Lateral Naval Architects, using the latter group's Free From Bulkheads platform to challenge traditional superyacht architecture by enabling watertight bulkheads to terminate at the lower deck. The resulting design principle, shared on Lateral's website, ensures that "above deck, anything is possible, unconstrained by the technical parts".
When on the water, Mirage’s minimalistic design "seamlessly blend[s] with the landscape, allowing the owner to feel one with nature and enjoy the sea in every moment," according to the firm. Exterior renderings reveal long lines of reflective glazing, a semi-opaque stern and a glinting, metallic hull and superstructure, evidently taking inspiration from its optical illusion namesake.
Accommodation is spread across five cabins, with four lower-deck guest cabins located in the stern of the yacht. A notable design feature appears in the master cabin, with a skylight positioned next to the mast silhouette. This distinguishes the yacht’s profile while simultaneously allowing natural light to flood the cabin, creating a bright and airy living space.
The main deck aft is intended as the main convivial space, hosting a bar, U-shaped sofa seating and a large swimming pool. There is a complementary tiered, mosaic plunge pool on the deck above. Found on the lower deck, the main saloon boasts 270-degree ocean views and floor-to-ceiling glass walls connected by three sliding doors.
Other onboard highlights include a full spa forward of the main deck and a helipad on the bow.
Mirage is Daroca Design's second-largest concept to date with the largest being the 105-metre, "champagne-green" explorer Equilibrium, which was unveiled in 2021.
