First look: Inside 41m explorer yacht Nuri following refit

7 August 2023 • Written by Dea Jusufi

Following her recent upgrade period by Boutsen Design at Pendennis' Vilanova site, the interiors of the 40.5-metre Nuri have been revealed by her new central agency for charter, Y.CO.

Originally delivered in 2021 as RJ , Nuri (“world” in Korean) is the only model in Cantiere delle Marche’s RJ130 series and was designed to be “a modern spin on the explorer vessel”.  She was rechristened earlier in 2022 and has undergone a number of cosmetic modifications that have put her in prime condition for the remainder of the charter season.

Built in steel and aluminium, her sporty exteriors are courtesy of Francesco Paszkowski, while her naval architecture was designed in-house in collaboration with Hydro Tec.

Her recent update sees refreshed, contemporary interiors and the installation of a brand-new Jacuzzi on the sundeck.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests across five cabins, plus space for nine crew. This includes the main deck master cabin, fitted with a king-sized bed, daybed, walk-through wardrobe and ensuite bathroom.

Y.CO’s new imagery reveals interior spaces furnished with lacquered, dark-wood wall panelling and leather-upholstered furniture in light brown and tan tones. While the designers have opted for a neutral colour scheme, there are vivid, characterful details found in the main saloon, including chequerboard-style storage and wall alcoves.

All rooms are integrated with Starlink, providing high-performance internet connectivity even when underway.

Nuri has ample convivial areas across her three decks. Fitted with sliding glass doors, the open-plan main saloon leads to the main deck aft, which connects to a spacious swim platform for direct access to the sea. The sundeck now boasts a Jacuzzi with bar-stool seating, plus a shaded, social space with a television screen, sofa seating and al fresco dining area.

Another option for open-air dining is found on the upper deck, which looks out to the stern and, forward, a line-up of baby-blue sunbeds. At the bow is a foredeck lounge with multiple flexible modular seats and panoramic ocean views.

As an explorer vessel, Nuri naturally has capacious storage – she’s able to carry over 15 toys and tenders at any one time, including two Seabobs, two Water Skis, three bicycles and a 12-metre Fjord chase tender.

Nuri can reach a maximum speed of 14.5 knots and has an impressive range of 5,500 nautical miles when pared back to nine knots, thanks to her twin MTU engines.

The owner has also committed to making carbon compensation payments for clean energy projects supported by RMI, at no extra cost to the charterer.

According to BOATPro, Cantiere delle Marche has four units scheduled for delivery this year, including the 44.3-metre Flexplorer 146 Maverick.

Nuri charters with Y.CO from €200,000 per week, plus expenses.
