A 115 metre explorer yacht concept designed for unlimited exploration has been revealed by German yard Lloyd Werft at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show.
Capable of carrying two 20-metre tenders and reaching a 9,000 nautical mile range, APEX features a rugged exterior penned by Monaco based studio The A Group and in-house naval architecture by Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven, which would also build the yacht if commissioned.
The exterior is characterised by open spaces, especially the stern which contrasts with the “massive ice-going bow”. The bow is “almost four decks high” and can “cope with the heaviest weather”, according to Lloyd Werft senior project manager André Stegmann.
Elsewhere, the exterior features large windows, cranes for launching the two tenders and a dedicated hangar to store the helicopter in adverse weather conditions.
A massive 18.5 metre beam results in 2500 sqm of living areas and an 8000GT interior, which would be entirely customised by the owner.
Accommodation on board is for a total of 22 guests and 48 crew members, with the guest accommodation split between the main and upper decks.
The owner’s dedicated deck meanwhile includes dressing rooms, bathrooms, an office and lounge, and direct access to the party area and infinity pool at the stern.
Elsewhere, the interior features two saloons; one on the upper deck with a dining table large enough to seat 26 guests. The second sits on the main deck and includes a cinema/ conference room to port and an entertainment area to starboard with pool and snooker tables. APEX also features an extensive spa with a gym and massage room while a multifunctional room forward can be used as an infirmary.
“APEX meets the demand of today's customers for stable, spacious and at the same time extremely robust yachts par excellence,” Stegmann added.
