Fledgling German builder Alva Yachts has revealed the interior of its all-electric 27.5 metre solar catamaran model Ocean Eco 90.
It comes after the builder announced that the molds for the hull and superstructure are well underway, with the multihull yacht expected to hit the water in late 2021.
Available with hybrid or full electric propulsion, the catamaran features more than 200 square metres of solar panelling. With an estimated cruising speed of 8-10 knots and top speed of 16-18 knots, the Ocean Eco 90 will have a “virtually unlimited range”, according to the builder.
Designed by Henndesign with naval engineering by the iYachts studio, the catamaran will have a beam of 14 metres and draft of 1.2 metres.
It comes after the builder revealed a range of eco yachts, including the Ocean Eco 60, which is also under construction.
The builder also has a sailing yacht model named the Ocean Sail 82 under development, which features hybrid propulsion, a high capacity battery bank and state-of-the-art rig.
