A superyacht holds a different meaning for each owner, shaped by its intended use. For some, it’s an exclusive getaway, a floating palace or a means of adventure. But in Baglietto’s DOM line, a superyacht embodies a home away from home - aptly named after the Latin word “DOM", meaning “home". These mid-size aluminium displacement cruisers are thoughtfully designed to cater to the functional lifestyle needs of today’s yacht owners.

The shipyard offers two models in the DOM line: the DOM115 and DOM133, both penned by Italian designer Stefano Vafiadis. "With Stefano Vafiadis, we devised a modern project that we wanted capable of meeting today’s needs, thought out for a dynamic owner that loves comfort but will not compromise on performances,” explains Fabio Ermetto, CCO of Baglietto. He notes that the sporty exterior lines of these yachts draw inspiration from the automotive industry.

“Choosing aluminium to build the DOM133, in particular, proved to be a winning, strategic solution,” he continues. “As a matter of fact, when compared to fibreglass, aluminium ensures not only higher quality and onboard comfort but also greater flexibility and the possibility to make changes that will result in highly customised exteriors and interior layout.”

The largest model in the line, the 40-metre DOM133, was first launched in 2022, with the sixth and most recent unit, Barbara Anne, hitting the water in April 2024. In 2023, Baglietto expanded the line with the entry-level 35-metre DOM115 built in steel and aluminium. “We embarked on this project to satisfy numerous requests from clients who admired the DOM133's key features but desired a smaller yacht,” explains Ermetto.

“The DOM133 is, indeed, a project we strongly believed in from the very beginning, and its market success so far proves its value,” Ermetto continues. “Looking at this vessel now, in her natural element, makes us all immensely proud.”

Both models are designed as ocean-going passage makers, with the DOM133 offering a top speed of 17 knots and a 3,500-nautical-mile range, while the DOM115 provides a 3,700-nautical-mile range at its economic speed of 10 knots. Additionally, the shallow draught of 2.4 metres allows these yachts to easily navigate the shallows of the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

What distinguishes the DOM line is its generous interior volume and extensive customisation options. The DOM133 features an 8.7-metre beam, while the DOM115 stretches to 7.8 metres. Vafiadis has thoughtfully incorporated a range of lifestyle features to enhance the onboard experience. For instance, the main deck is designed to create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The main saloon boasts full-height, openable panoramic windows, the upper saloon is flanked by terraces on either side and the master features optional fold-down balconies, further expanding the sense of openness. Additionally, a glass staircase integrated into the main deck amplifies this feeling of spaciousness.

The exterior design of the DOM lines emphasises expansive open-air spaces. A standout feature is the two-level beach club, which includes a pool with a movable floor on the DOM133, allowing the pool to be closed and the cockpit extended when desired. On the sundeck, the T-top can be equipped with a sliding sunroof, offering guests the option to enjoy an open-air experience. Additionally, the larger DOM133 model boasts the luxury of a second pool located forward. The port-side garage for tender storage further maximises deck space, ensuring ample room for guest relaxation and enjoyment.

Baglietto has always had a strong focus on environmental issues and ocean protection, and constantly reiterates its commitment towards product innovation and research on cutting-edge technological solutions compatible with the ecosystems.

Through the BZero initiative, Baglietto now offers hybrid propulsion technology as an optional feature on all its yachts. Not only does this reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact, but it enhances onboard comfort by minimising noise and vibrations. For example, the DOM133, when operating in full electric mode, can cruise for up to four hours at five knots. In diesel-electric mode, she offers a range of 6,900 nautical miles at six knots, and she can run solely on batteries for up to 10 hours while at anchor.
