Turkish shipyard RMK Marine has released a 90-metre explorer yacht concept designed for "an ambitious, adventure-seeking family".
Known as the Arctic 90, the design features a "special steel" engineered for extreme cold and an aluminium superstructure for enhanced stability. RMK Marine has joined forces with long standing collaborator ER Yacht Design on the concept, a Canadian studio that is also responsible for the design of the yard's flagship explorer, the ER65.
A retro, bi-colour exterior sets the Arctic 90 apart, as does several features that promote sustained autonomy at sea – including advanced helicopter capabilities, submarine operations, winterisation methods and onboard systems optimised for extreme conditions.
However, renderings reveal that the design is also compatible with milder climes. A glass-fronted swimming pool serves as the Arctic 90's centrepiece, with shaded outdoor lounge spots and al fresco dining also found across her four exterior decks. Interiors have been described as "cozy and practical", with floor-to-ceiling glazing that redirects guests' focus to their surroundings, whether that be the rugged Antarctic or craggy Mediterranean coast.
Key specs include a volume of under 5,000GT, a 14.5-metre beam and a draft of 4.5 metres.
According to BOATPro, RMK Marine has two yachts currently under construction: the ER65 and the 49.9-metre Aries, created in collaboration with Design Unlimited and Hot Lab. The latter is currently for sale, asking €31,500,000 with Ocean Independence.
