Bodrum-based shipyard Aegean Yacht has begun construction on two new projects designed by Riza Tansu.

The first is a 37.7 metre named Project Vortex, which has been commissioned by an experienced client, and the second is a 40 metre named Project T-Rex, which is being built on speculation.

Tansu has said the two custom yachts will follow in the footsteps of the Tigershark series, which includes 36 metre Preference 19 and 39 metre S7.

Built in steel and aluminium, the yachts will be able to reach top speeds between 15 and 16 knots.

The boats mark the first two projects in the Riza Tansu and Aegean Yacht collaboration, with “more in negotiation”, according to Tansu. Delivery for both models is scheduled in 2024.
