Italian builder AB Yachts has launched the first unit in its new AB120 series at the Next Yacht Group's Viareggio yard in Italy. The motor yacht is said to 'fly' on the water with a top speed of 45 knots.
The sports yacht is the largest offering in the AB Yachts fleet, which includes the AB80 and AB100 sportfly models, and features a large aft area that's extendable up to 100 square metres. The beach club has two aft wings that create a sea-level terrace when deployed, and the space flows seamlessly into the aft cockpit and main saloon to create a sense of indoor-outdoor living. It's also home to a "sea-view" pool.
Other highlights include ample space for water toys and tenders, with a float-in garage in the aft and additional storage in the bow, as well as 360-degree floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the interior with natural light.
As well as performance, the new model is built for entertaining to with a custom-built bar and a "cinema under the stars" system on the sundeck.
A low draft of 1.35 metres enables her to reach shallow waters in places such as the Caribbean, where she is now headed in time for the summer season.
AB Yachts is a brand of Next Yacht Group and said the new model reflected its "new strategic path" which aims to accomplish a "gentle transformation of the entire product range through the use of state-of-the-art technologies and unique solutions in terms of onboard functionality and livability."
The launch comes just a few months after Viareggio-based Next Yacht Group branded AB Yachts one of the company’s strongest assets.
