Phathom Design has released renderings of its latest 60 metre Phathom superyacht concept, which is the smaller sibling of the Dutch studio's 80 metre debut concept revealed in 2019.
The 60 metre was designed at the request of a client who was looking for the amenities of its predecessor but in a smaller package.
The yacht features an unconventional layout with a three-storey indoor-outdoor atrium that extends from the main deck aft up to the sundeck, bathing the interior in natural light. Its exterior interweaves geometric shapes and structural glass "with the intention to impress", the studio said.
A split-level owner's apartment also makes heavy use of glass with multi-deck windows and a glass balcony that looks down onto a lounge area and study below. Above, is a sundeck conservatory wrapped in UV protected glass, which is home to a relaxed al fresco galley for casual dining as well as a panoramic gym or spa. Underfoot, a structural glass floor doubles as a skylight at the top of the central atrium.
Sequestered in the bow is an exterior lounge protected from the elements by glass panels on either side, with a waterfall feature and curved sofas. However, on the Phathom 60 metre sun lounging is best enjoyed on the aft deck which comes to life at anchor. Once the tender is launched, the storage well can be transformed into a swimming pool while the bulwarks fold out to create a vast open deck.
There are steps down to the beach club on the lower deck where an additional tender can be stored.
