UK shipyard Pendennis has announced the delivery of the 58.8-metre explorer yacht Seawolf following her transformative two-year refit. According to BOATPro, the superyacht has completed her maiden journey to Antigua in the Caribbean, where she is now moored.

The yacht arrived at Pendennis' facilities for a full-scale refit in March 2022, with works concluding in October 2024. One of the yard's "most technically demanding projects", Seawolf underwent extensive engineering and electrical works and a full hull and superstructure repaint, alongside the installation of a new rescue crane. The shipyard worked closely with British studio Design Unlimited on this "sympathetic" exterior refresh, with Seawolf remodelled in keeping with her original 1950s design.

Design Unlimited was also tasked with refreshing her interiors, with the brief requesting "cosy spaces where [the owner family] could share the spectacular sights of the world". To this end, Seawolf now features a new suite on the owner's deck, a redesigned flybridge area for dining and sightseeing and a new crew area.

First delivered by Dutch yard J&K Smit in 1957, the classic build began its life as an oceangoing tug before being converted into a superyacht between 1998 and 2004. Her original layout includes accommodation for up to 12 guests in five cabins, including a full-beam master suite complete with an office and pantry. Meanwhile, her deck spaces boast an al fresco cocktail bar, a swimming pool and plenty of sunbathing and lounging areas.

Mark Tucker, creative director at Design Unlimited, explained the "fundamental role" that the owners played in Seawolf's refit. "Every detail reflects their vision and preferences," he said. "[This] transformational refit will ensure the longevity of this famous ocean-going tug, allowing it to continue its legacy for years to come."

An ice-strengthened hull allows for remote cruising and her extensive travels have taken her to a number of exotic destinations pre-refit, including Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, French Polynesia, Fiji and the Dominican Republic. Once a popular charter yacht, she comes with a range of toys including Jet Skis and windsurfers.

Last year, Pendennis hit the headlines with the delivery of the 34.9-metre explorer yacht Fox. She was the largest UK superyacht launch of 2024 and was named after one of Falmouth's most famous inventors, Robert Were Fox the Younger.
