29m auxiliary ketch Telstar VI joins the market

25 November 2022 • Written by Nick Jeffery

The 28.7 metre auxiliary ketch Telstar VI has joined the brokerage market with Bernard Gallay. Built of mahogany and oak in Italy in 1968 by Cantiere Craglietto, she was designed by renowned naval architect Alan Buchanan.

Telstar VI is asking €1,200,000

Her interior is designed by Linley of London and features standout woodwork with mother of pearl inlay. Her classically styled cabins provide accommodation for up to six guests in a master suite, double cabin and a twin cabin. Each bathroom has a unique mosaic tile feature.

Crew quarters are forward, separated from the raised saloon by the galley. The wheelhouse is above and enjoys commanding views all around and a bar immediately aft.

With a range of 2000 nautical miles under power, this yacht for sale is a true ocean going ketch. She cruises comfortably at 10 to 12 knots under twin Doosan 338kw engines.

Telstar VI underwent a substantial refit in Malta from 2012 to 2019, to be MCA compliant, where she was completely stripped out, partly replanked, beams and floor replaced with laminated beams, refastened and sheathed with epoxy.

Telstar VI's ketch rig boasts carbon fibre spars with hydraulically operated in-mast furling and sail control systems, by Lewmar, enabling full single-handed control of the sails from the wheelhouse or the outside helm. Her modern design and large battery bank enable her to sail in silence without generators for over 12 hours at a time.

Telstar VI is lying in Sete, France, and asking €1,200,000
