Tucker Fallon at Bradford Marine Yacht Sales tells me there's a $245,000 price cut on his central listing for sale, the classic 28m motor yacht Innisfail.
Innisfail was built by Trumpy in 1939 to a design by John Trumpy and has played host to numerous dignitaries and US presidents including President Kennedy, Nixon and Clinton and celebrities such as Jackie Gleason and Sammy Davis Jr. Ex-El Presidente, Innisfail was returned to her former glory during an extensive refit and also her former name, which is an ancient name for Ireland.
The current owner has taken great pains to restore the original lines including installing traditional cap railing to replace a false flybridge and replacing damaged wood and deck beams. A rebuilt pilothouse closely resembles the original and she now has an extended foredeck shade and signal mast. Innisfail was returned to her original profile in 2011 with a reconfigured stem and bow. Her refit was completed by restoration masters Moores Marine.
Her dated interior was restored as well, with all of the furniture, sans one piece, authentic 1920 and '30s. Accommodation is for six guests in a master suite and two twin staterooms while twin 370hp GM engines give her a stately cruising speed of 10 knots.
Innisfail is down from $1,995,000 to $1,750,000.
