The 24.51 metre motor yacht Blue Moon, listed for sale by Luke Brown Yachts, has been sold in an in-house deal with Andrew Cilla representing both buyer and seller.
Launch in 2007 by Marlow Yachts, this fast trawler yacht was built from a Kevlar composite hull and superstructure to an in-house design, while Douglas Zurn provided the naval architecture.
Accommodation is for six guests split across three spacious staterooms, including a maste suite, VIP and a twin cabin, while the crew quarters allow for a staff of two people. Her classy interior reflects the elegance of the 1940s with high-gloss varnished teak headliner battens, antique lamps and nautical paintings. Formal dining for all six guests is offered around a custom mahogany table, while on-board entertainment comes courtesy of a 42-inch plasma screen television mounted on a rise-and-fall mechanism opposite a leather settee. Meanwhile four large windows on each side provide great views out to sea. On deck, her flybridge boasts an extended hardtop, barbecue grill, bar area and room for storing a five-metre tender.
Described by her broker as “the perfect balance of beauty and brawn”, Blue Moon belies her classic exterior with a powerful twin 1,675hp Caterpillar C32 engine set-up that propels her to a fast cruising speed of 24 knots, with speeds in excess of 30 knots recorded. Also comfortable cruising serenely at eight knots, she is fitted with hydraulic Side Power thrusters and a stabiliser system, both of which are by Naiad.
Blue Moon was sold for $2,550,000.
