Damen Yachting's 55 metre Sea Axe support vessel Time Off has been sold with both buyer and seller represented by Burgess.
Built on speculation in steel and aluminium by the Dutch yard, she was on the market for just under a year and was available for delivery from July 2021. Time Off features a large main deck aft hangar ready to be adapted to a variety of configurations, including submersible and dive operations, equipment storage or workshop facilities.
Accommodation inside the 499GT interior is for a total of seven guests and four staff plus up to 20 additional crew while the 50 square-metre aft deck which can be accessed via the swim platform can be tailored to suit the needs of its new owner.
The Sea Axe concept is proving itself when it comes to sustainability because of the dramatic reduction in wave resistance. This unique innovation was developed for high-speed vessels initially to improve operability and for the comfort and safety of the crew.
No fewer than four Caterpillar diesel engines allow a cruising speed of 20 knots topping out at 22 knots. Fuel usage is cut by 20% because of the optimisation of the hull form in real operating conditions.
Time Off was asking €16,500,000 and will be renamed Better Space.
