A €1,050,000 price drop has been announced on the 30.5-metre sailing yacht Whimsea, listed for sale with Will Bishop of Superyacht Partners.
Built of carbon GRP composite in 2009 by CNB in France, she was designed by Luca Brenta with an ultra-contemporary interior by Wetzels Brown Partners.
Whimsea accommodates six guests in three cabins, including a full beam double owner's cabin forward, "with direct access to a wide master head and shower". There are also two VIP cabins forward of the saloon and crew quarters for a team of four aft.
She sports a monochrome feel throughout with carbon black flooring and crisp white bulkheads and furniture, with copious amounts of natural light thanks to the glazed coachroof structure. She is minimalist not only in her ultra-modern interior, but also on deck, where technical solutions such as concealing the halyard winches beneath carbon panels in the teak deck create a sleek, uncluttered feel.
The coachroof is made up of 78 glass panels and there is a removable carbon-fibre hardtop protecting the guest cockpit, which sports vast expanses of upholstered seating well out of the way of any of the titanium deck hardware. All the hydraulic sail controls are positioned between the twin helm stations.
The sailing yacht for sale, built to Bureau Veritas (BV) classification, has a single Cummins diesel engine for manoeuvring in port or keeping to schedule on windless passages, but she is best enjoyed under sail, flying her colourful spinnaker.
Whimsea is now asking €3,900,000 with VAT paid.
