First 30m CLX96 motor yacht by Jozeph Forakis for sale

4 April 2024 • Written by Nick Jeffery

The first hull of the 29.5-metre CLX96 is now listed for sale with Carmen Lau of Camper & Nicholsons.

Delivered in 2022 from CL Yachts, the GRP motor yacht was designed by Jozeph Forakis – an award-winning industrial designer – with naval architecture by Alfaro Design. CL Yachts was set up in 2017 as a brand of the Chinese shipyard Cheoy Lee, to appeal to the design-savvy clientele of the new generation.

Lying in Fort Lauderdale, USA, the CLX96 is asking $9,900,000.

The broker said that Forakis has created a "rugged and unique profile" and is "reinventing the luxury motor yacht to offer complete freedom and versatility without compromising on style and performance".

Accommodation for eight guests is provided in four cabins on the lower deck, comprising a full-beam master stateroom with skylight forward, a VIP suite with "virtual" skylight and two guest cabins. There are quarters for a crew of three in two cabins.

Entering the saloon from the aft deck – which is the prime al fresco dining area – one can see past the open-plan dining area past the galley and on to the "champagne lounge" seating with views ahead. Thanks to the use of carbon fibre, the structural beams and window mullions are small and allow for a genuine feeling of natural lightness through the expanses of glass.

On deck, there are two distinct social areas forward named the "Terrazza Portoghese" – or Portuguese bridge – and the "Piazza del Sole" which is a circular seating zone forward, whose seats easily convert to loungers. Aft, twin stairs lead down to a large swim platform which in turn has another fold-out "Z-lift" platform, the whole area clad in teak. This can be used to launch and retrieve the tender.

The 170GT, RINA-classed yacht for sale is powered by twin 1,900hp Caterpillar diesels, with only 120 hours on each, giving her a cruising speed of 22 knots and maximum speed of 25 knots.

Lying in Fort Lauderdale, USA, the CLX96 is asking $9,900,000.
