The 70-metre Benetti motor yacht Alfa has been sold, with Vassilis Fotilas at Fraser representing the seller and Anton Foord of Ocean Independence representing the buyer.

Alfa features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with exterior design penned in-house by Benetti in collaboration with the owner. Launched in 2020, she won a coveted Neptune at the 2021 World Superyacht Awards in the Displacement Motor Yacht Between 1,000GT and 1,599GT category, and has had little use since. Fotilas had said she represented "a rare opportunity to acquire a yacht of her pedigree, age, design and style."

Her Laura Pomponi interior accommodates 12 guests in a seven-cabin configuration with an elevator connecting four of her five guest decks. Natural materials and hues are used throughout with white stone, teak-coloured woods, white leather ceilings and purposefully restrained use of colour. Nothing is overtly shiny; the only glimmer is in what appears to be bronze details made from liquid metal.

The upper deck is dedicated to the owner with outdoor access and an interior stairway. The 120-square-metre cabin sits at the bow with a walk-in his and hers wardrobe and "breakfast corner" with an exterior lounge overlooking the touch-and-go helicopter pad on the bow and a private office connected to the lobby. The remaining six cabins are found on the lower deck including a cabin for staff.

The beach club, rather than opening at the stern, has balconies unfolding on either side, allowing guests to enjoy a cross-breeze off the water. The space can also be enjoyed as an additional lounge while underway, accessed by guest corridors leading from the stern and via an internal stairwell from the main deck.

The enclosed-stern beach club layout allows space for an infinity pool occupying the aft section of the main deck above – and all of its required machinery on the lower deck. An electric system raises the floor of the 1.2-metre-deep pool halfway, forming a shallow paddling pool for kids, or further up to meet the deck and become a dance floor or a sunbathing area.

Power comes from a pair of 2,400hp Caterpillar C32 diesel engines that allow for a top speed of 17 knots. When trimmed back to her cruising speed of 12 knots, the 1,442GT yacht boasts a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles. Having only been used privately, Alfa has very low engine hours.

Alfa was asking €67,000,000.
