A further $1,000,000 price drop has been announced on the 44.2-metre Benetti motor yacht Checkmate, listed for sale with Matt Albert of Superyacht Partners.
Checkmate was delivered by the Italian yard in 2013. The yacht was constructed in GRP as one of the most recent hulls from Benetti's coveted Vision model, designed by Stefano Righini with interiors by Francois Zuretti. According to her brokers, the series "changed the face of semi-custom Italian yacht-building and was the influence for many of the sub 500GT Italian series yachts that we see today."
Checkmate had a significant technical refit at CRN in 2021, a complete interior remodelling in 2022 and a new hull paint in 2024.
Accommodation is for 12 guests in five well-appointed cabins, including a main deck master suite with 180-degree panoramic views, a private terrace forward, king-sized bed, walk-in wardrobe, private office space and en suite bathroom with large tub and separate shower decorated in marble. There are quarters for a crew of 10.
Her interiors are characterised by cherry and burl madrona woods contrasting bright modern colours to suit a range of tastes – a theme showcased in her large main saloon and generous sky lounge.
Checkmate stands out from other Benetti Vision yachts with her newly applied light blue Awlgrip hull paint and white superstructure, complimenting her revamped interior. Other differences to her design include her large square port hulls for enhanced views, a bespoke sky lounge with additional windows, and an extra day head on the sun deck.
Her sun deck also houses a spa pool aft for views over the stern, while curved seating forward makes for commanding views over the bow, where there is another small seating area.
Twin Caterpillar diesel engines power the 456GT yacht for sale up to a cruising speed of 13 knots and top speed of 15 knots, while her range at 12 knots is 3,500 nautical miles. She is also ABS-classed and MCA-compliant.
Checkmate is now asking $13,900,000, currently lying in Viareggio, Italy.
