All Ocean Yachts sells expedition yacht Fortaleza with Luke Brown

1 July 2014 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

Dana Cambon at Luke Brown Yachts tells me he's closed on his listing for sale, the 25.91m expedition yacht Fortaleza, with John DeCaro at All Ocean Yachts representing the buyer.

Built by Brazilian yard Inace with delivery in 2004, her rugged expedition-style exterior disguises a luxurious rich cherry wood interior with accommodation for 10 guests in four staterooms, including a large master suite on the main deck.

Fortaleza had a major refit in 2007, including new 450hp Scania main engines, which give her a range of 4,000 nautical miles.

The sellers of Fortaleza, and their hand-picked team of archeologists and ocean scientists, have discovered numerous ancient shipwrecks off the coasts of Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Sicily and Malta. Through their efforts, they developed excellent relationships with governments, cultural institutions and universities surrounding the Mediterranean that provided them with exclusive access to numerous areas and sites not available to other yachts or individuals.

Fortaleza was asking $2,750,000.
