Every month, superyacht owners reveal where they are in the world and share their future plans. This month, BOAT speaks to the owner of Azimut's 28.7-metre yacht D Five about the lesser-known spots for island-hopping in Greece.

You’ve spent this season in the Ionian. Where have you explored?
Almost everywhere. We started in Sivota and then checked out Parga, Paxos, Antipaxos, Lefkada, Meganisi, Kalamos, Kastos, Atokos, Kefalonia and Ithaca. We like to keep moving.
How long have you managed to spend on the boat?
Now with the ability to work remotely and have online meetings, we can “stretch” our time on the boat to more than a month. It’s super nice to wake up in the morning, do a quick dive in turquoise waters and after take your meetings and work for four to five hours. Then it’s about time to go to the beach!
Where’s the best place you’ve found?
It’s really hard to say. Greece is ideal for yachting and island hopping. There are so many great choices, just 15 or 30 minutes away. If you want some less well known ones, then I’d say Atokos and Kalamos at the Ionian Sea. We also love Antipaxos with Paxos in the Ionian. In the Aegean, I’d say Schinoussa and in the Dodecanese area, Symi is number one.
Are many other boats around? Does it seem busier than usual?
Definitely yes. More and more people are discovering the uniqueness of Greece and bringing their yachts for vacations here. But the cruising area is so big and island choices so abundant that you never feel like you’re in traffic.
Do you prefer to eat on the boat or on land?
Both. But because most of the time we prefer to stay until late at the beach we sleep on anchor and don’t go to the ports… so on board at the end wins.
What would be your top five island recommendations for superyacht visitors to Greece?
In the Ionian: Paxos and Antipaxos, Meganisi, Ithaca, Atokos, Kalamos. In the Aegean: Schinoussa, Elafonisos, Koufonisi, Ios, Antiparos. In the Dodecanese: Patmos, Symi, Nisiros, Halki. But there are so many others!
