The best SPF moisturisers for men

26 February 2019 • Written by Lucia Ferigutti

Wearing water-resistant sunscreen with SPF40 and over is an absolute must while on board, in order to avoid sunburn (red faces are for first-timers) and protect the skin from more serious damage. To prevent wrinkles and other signs of aging, as well as reducing the risk of skin cancer, it’s good practice to wear a bit of sun protection in your everyday moisturiser too. While women’s everyday sun protection needs are well catered for, the men’s skincare market offers far less options – we’ve done the research and rounded up the best.

This vitamin-enriched moisturiser has a non-oily texture and is suitable for all skin types. Keep it in the fridge for a de-puffing effect.

Facial Fuel SPF 20, $35 for 125 ml, Kiehl’s

Formulated with ingredients such as vitamin E, zinc oxide and sandalwood, this lotion is suited to normal to dry skin types.

Sage & Zinc Facial Hydrating Cream SPF15, £27 for 40ml, Aesop

Designed for tired, dull skins this light weight product absorbs quickly and is the perfect complexion pick-me-up. It’s also free of paraben, mineral oil and silicone.

Borage Anti-Shine Moisturiser SPF 6, £22 for 50ml, Korres at Liberty London

This unisex product targets sun-induced signs of ageing such as wrinkles, dark spots and uneven skin tones and is packed with UV protection.

Redermic [R] UV SPF30, £30 for 40ml, La Roche-Posay

Daily Light Guard Defence Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 30, £34 for 30ml, Aveda

This genius product can be applied directly to face and neck to achieve full SPF coverage, or mixed with your favourite moisturiser to add protection against UV rays.
