Chanel has unveiled a new fine jewellery collection inspired by the house’s iconic quilting.
The limited edition six-piece Coco Crush collection features five rings and a cuff in 18 karat white and yellow gold. Each piece has been engraved with the simple and elegant matelassé quilting detail that has become synonymous with house’s handbags, accessories and clothing, creating a refined and luxurious collection that is instantly recognisable as Chanel.
With its clean lines and relative lack of detail, this collection is a departure from Chanel’s much more intricate Comète and Camélia collections. This is a cool, wearable range made for everyday use, an aesthetic reflected in its price tag, which tops out at £13,500 but begins at the much more purse friendly £1,400. For a brand whose fine jewellery price tags easily stray in to the tens of thousands this is a comparable bargain.
The collection is available via an exclusive pop-up shop on Net-A-Porter, making this a doubly momentous occasion for a brand which has famously resisted e-commerce thus far. Marking the first time Chanel has allowed anything other than beauty products to be sold online, the three-week pop-up has proved a resounding success, with two of the six pieces selling out in days.
The Chanel Coco Crush collection is available exclusively on Net-A-Porter until 6 May. Prices begin at £1,400.
