Yacht management companies Fairport Yacht Support and SYM have announced a merger under the new name Fairport Global.
The entity believes that the merger marks the beginning of a move toward global expansion, thanks to the two companies' speciality territories in the US and Europe. Fairport Global now comprises over 50 team members that collectively manage over 100 yachts.
With the promotions of Angus Mackenzie and Lisa Martinez to managing directors of their respective regions, the founders, Ben Young (former SYM) and Graeme Lord (Fairport Yacht Support) will assume the roles of commercial director and chairman, with a renewed focus on business development and industry relations.
"We’re delighted to announce the launch of Fairport Global," said Angus Mackenzie, managing director of Fairport Global in the US. "This logical, strategic move will allow us to leverage international resources and establish a solid presence in new key markets worldwide. Backed by joint parent company MarineMax, we’re equipped with enhanced resources and financial stability, ensuring exceptional service worldwide."
"Teaming up with Fairport marks an incredible milestone for us at SYM," says Lisa Martinez, managing director of Fairport Global in Europe. "Together, we’re set to redefine global yacht management. I’m thrilled to be part of this exciting journey ahead."
As part of their growth plans, Fairport Global has also been actively recruiting new team members in all their international offices. Notable recent appointments include the promotion of Nate Cook, now head of operations for Fairport Global in the US.
