Yacht fire on Benetti Blue Vision in Palma

Benetti superyacht Blue Vision caught fire while berthed in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

According to initial reports, the yacht fire on Blue Vision was caused by an electrical short circuit, and the fire soon spread throughout the 43.6 metre vessel.

A fire broke out on Benetti superyacht Blue Vision

The motor yacht Blue Vision was berthed at a jetty near the famed Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma when the fire began. Fire fighters and police were quickly dispatched to extinguish the yacht fire and were successful in preventing it from spreading to other vessels. It took about an hour to completely extinguish the fire on superyacht Blue Vision.

While no injuries have been reported, the yacht suffered significant damage, the extent of which has yet to be fully revealed. Local authorities have now begun an investigation into the accident.

Blue Vision is a popular charter yacht, accommodating 10 guests in five staterooms. Launched in 2007 by Italian builder Benetti, the full-displacement yacht features exterior design by Stefano Righini and is constructed in GRP. She had a thorough refit in 2010. Notable features include her generous sun deck and a plethora of water toys.
