Brazilian shipyard Inace has debuted its first 27.4 metre Explora 90, christened Waikiki, at the Rio Boat Show.
Conceived by Fernando de Almeida Yacht Design with naval architecture by Hydro Tec, the Inace Explora 90 is the first model in a line of rugged explorer yachts designed for long-range exploration.
With a high-profile plumb bow and active stabilisers, Waikiki offers a range of 3,000 nautical miles at ten knots and the capacity to cruise in high-latitude regions.
At 230GT, the Explora 90 packs a punch when it comes to living space. There is around 400 square metres of useable space on board, with features including a beach club, upper deck lounge and sun deck with jacuzzi, bar and barbecue.
Meanwhile, accommodation is split between a main deck owner’s suite and four guest cabins on the lower deck.
“We had a crazy 2021 at Inace finishing Waikiki.” Said Flavio Constantino, sales director at Inace. “To bring Waikiki to the 2022 Rio Boat Show was another odyssey that she conquered with all the glories.
“From Fortaleza [in northeast Brazil] to Rio is a 1,600 nautical mile trip in the open waters of the Atlantic ocean [...] where she had the opportunity to face all sorts of weather and prove her Inace DNA: six days cruising at 12 knots, burning 65 litres per engine with not a single lightbulb burnt. We are so very proud.”
Commissioned by a Brazilian owner, Waikiki features a calm and fresh interior “almost the same as the beach house they have on a Brazilian island,” said Constantino. “But if you pay close attention, you’ll see a careful and precise woodwork as well as excellent flooring and Brazilian marble slabs.”
The second hull of the same model is scheduled to hit the water in eight months. In the meantime, Waikiki may make her US debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
