The 31.7-metre Versilcraft motor yacht Illusions has partly sunk while moored by the former Romeo Packing plant, in Isla Mujeres, Mexico (11 August).

Local media outlets reported that navy personnel from the Ninth Naval Region were the first on the scene to respond on Sunday (11 August), while the Department of Marine Environmental Protection and the Port Authority of Isla Mujeres responded on Monday morning (12 August).

The yacht was first reported taking water on Saturday evening, and then partly sinking over the night and on Sunday morning.

Delivered in 1991, the yacht was designed inside and out by Antonio Maggini. She is one of the yard's Super Challenger models, with her most recent refit in 2008.

BOAT International will update the story as it develops.
