Combining racing catamaran pedigree and multihull stability, the new Vantage 86 catamaran is designed equally for high-performance racing and bluewater cruising.
Dubbed an “adventure performance catamaran”, the first of a new breed of cruiser-racer 27.91 metre LOA sailing cats will be built by Green Marine.
The UK yacht builder Green marine was chosen due to its expertise in composite construction. The new Vantage 86 will be built in carbon fibre pre preg, FRP and foam and Nomex sandwich construction.
Phil Scott, Managing Director of Vantage Catamarans, said of the new catamaran superyacht, “British born and bred, Vantage 86 will enable exploration of the furthest reaches of the ocean with speed, safety and luxury. It is our goal to create the most technologically advanced adventure catamaran on the market; she will be fast, stable and built for action."
Naval architecture and the conceptual design of the Vantage 86 comes from award-winning yacht designer Nigel Irens, while exterior styling is by Christophe Chedal-Anglay. Interior design is by British studio Peter Hall & Son. The Vantage 86 catamaran will accommodate eight guests and three crewmembers inside spacious cabins thanks to a roomy 10.35 metre beam.
The adventure-ready Vantage 86 is due to launch in 2017. A model of the Vantage 86 will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show this September.
