Vietnam-based shipyard StellarPM has introduced a new series of explorer yachts called StellarEXP. The line comprises two steel and aluminium explorers that will be available in 32-metre and 37-metre editions.
Both the StellarEXP32 and StellarEXP37 models are offered in either an 'M' configuration with an extended upper deck for tender storage, or an alternative 'S' configuration where the tender is stored on the main deck.
The models have a respective beam of 11.6 and 12.6 metres, while accommodation is configured as five guest cabins and three crew cabins in both iterations.
The naval architecture has been crafted by Dutch studio Ginton Naval Architects, while details on the interior design are yet to be disclosed.
Construction and assembly of the new series will take place at the StellarPM facility in Hai Phong, Vietnam with a 20-month lead time from signing the initial contract. The modular interiors, however, will be built at the yard's Chinese factory in Zhuhai.
Both models draw power from twin 750 horsepower C18 Caterpillar engines, which enable a top speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and a maximum range of 3,400 nautical miles.
For those who wish to prioritise speed, StellarPM is also offering a fully aluminium version of each model with a top speed of 22 knots and a 2,400 nautical mile range provided by two 1,800 horsepower C32 Caterpillar engines.
All StellarEXP hulls have been certified according to Lloyd's Register SSC, Yacht, Mono and G6 standards, whereas all engines qualify for compliance with the U.S. EPA Tier 3 regulations.
"It has been our dream to offer really safe and substantial explorer yachts to the market for some time now and the StellarEXP series is a culmination of our long history of yacht building, yard managing, and yacht renewing," said principal and founder of StellarPM Chris Holmes. "The power catamaran hull delivers superb fuel efficiency and maximum stability and [...] offers the reassurance and comfort that long periods at sea entail.”
The news comes after StellarPM sold the first hull in its StellarONE range of motor yachts, for a 33-metre StellarONE108 due in 2024.
