The keel has been laid on the second Sunseeker 155 motor yacht at the yard’s facility in Poole, on the south coast of the UK.
A client ordered the Sunseeker 155 superyacht at the Dubai boat show in March, the yacht’s keel-laying was attended by client representatives and Sunseeker International’s founder and president Robert Braithwaite.
The yard’s update follows the February launch of the first Sunseeker 155, superyacht Blush, commissioned for Formula 1′s Eddie Jordan. Similarly to Jordan, the client for the second unit is keen to emphasise the bespoke aspects of the project, so the two 155s are likely to be very different. The second 155, for example, will feature glass panels from floor to ceiling in the master cabin and two double berth guest cabins. She will also feature more powerful engines, twin 16V MTUs offering speeds up to 25 knots and a cruising speed of 11 to 12 knots. Accommodation will be for 12 guests in a six cabin layout.
The client is working with Sunseeker to finalise the interior design to ensure the yacht reflects their personality. See the August issue of Boat International magazine for the full feature on superyacht Blush.
