US design studio Ray Hunt Design has revealed a new line of classic American motor yacht designs.
Traditionally designed, the three-strong fleet is “free of trendy styling clichés”, according to the studio.
“There are no gimmicks and fads here, just enduring elegance where form follows function in harmony with the sea,” it added.
The three models are available in three sizes; 25.9 metres, 29.2 metres and 42.6 metres and can be built in either aluminium or composite construction.
The 85 model includes a fully enclosed walk-around pilothouse and accommodation for a total of eight guests in an owner’s stateroom and three other guest cabins. The 96 model includes a large country style kitchen galley and the option to include the captain’s cabin or an owner’s office in the large pilothouse.
The flagship of the fleet, the 140, features plenty of space forward and aft and a long unbroken sheer line.
Traditional exteriors are paired with contemporary layouts. Key features include informal and open spaces, large owner suites, convenient water access and plenty of storage for tenders and toys.
Layout variations are also available, with the possibility of placing the owner’s suite on the main deck.
Speaking about the new fleet, Ray Hunt Design president Winn Willard said: “It seemed time to reconsider what a traditional yacht should be and to offer an alternative to the many highly styled and retro-styled yachts on the market today, and to work with some of the best American yacht builders.”
