Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche has announced the sale of the first unit in its RAW 105 (Recreational All-Weather Watercraft) series. Measuring 32 metres, the explorer yacht is the slightly larger sibling to the 31.1-metre RAW 102, which was unveiled at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival.
The owner had initially purchased a RAW 102 but has since renegotiated to a larger model, ensuring "that technical requirements and design achieved the perfect balance".
Giorgio M. Cassetta is behind the range's geometric design, though the RAW 105 appears to have diverted from the smaller model's bright orange overhang and bootstripe.
The model has a similar layout to its sibling, including drone and helicopter landing capability, storage for up to two five-metre tenders in the bow and the placement of the ventilation trunks outside to preserve indoor space. Another highlight is the swim platform, which is styled as a "panoramic balcony" with a low bulwark and handrail. A section of the bulwark can fold down, providing easy access to the water.
The main deck cockpit has been designed for year-round usability, enclosed with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that create a veranda-like space. Simultaneously, the overhang of the upper deck provides full shade and protection in sunnier weather.
"I am truly happy to have contributed to the birth of the RAW 105 project," said the owner. "I was looking for a sturdy, reliable, and compact vessel that would allow my family to explore both the most remote corners of the oceans and the countless wonderful coves that the Mediterranean is full of."
According to BOATPro, Cantiere delle Marche has 18 yachts currently on order or under construction, including three units in its Flexplorer 165 series. The shipyard announced its plans to diversify into a full RAW range at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival.
