The world caught the first glimpse of the super-secret Columbus Yachts Classic 57 metre this weekend, May 16, during a launch event in Naples, Italy.
The beige-hulled yacht was launched in style, with plenty of Champagne and ticker-tape. With not even a rendering of her made available before the launch, it was with some anticipation that the curtain was drawn back on the project.
She features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and a heavy displacement of 752 tonnes.
Constructed in steel and aluminium, the 57 metre displacement motor yacht will sit in the middle of the Columbus Yachts Classic lineup, which spans 44 to 75 metres. She's the second yacht from the Classic line launched by Columbus Yachts, following the introduction of 54 metre Prima in 2011, which picked up a Judges' Commendation at 2012's World Superyacht Awards.
According to Columbus Yachts, her interior "can best be described in one word: eclectic. A variety of particular woods, mirrors and marbles were mixed together in order to create a unique environment inspired by natural elements".
The yacht was launched alongside the second 40M Hybrid Sport from Columbus Yachts. Both are also scheduled to make their first public appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show 2015 this September.
The yard, based in Port of Naples, is currently working on the first yacht in its Columbus Sport Oceanic range, a 70 metre designed by Studio Vafiadis.
