Mengi Yay Yachts has delivered Ancora to her American owners, marking a first for the Turkish shipyard. The 47.2-metre yacht is the third hull in Mengi Yay's Virtus 47 series.
Ancora's glossy, sculptural exterior is courtesy of VYD Studio while her naval architecture was completed by Ginton Naval Architects. She was sold in August 2022 by Fraser's David Legrand and Alain Auvare.
Accommodation is for up to 10 guests split between five cabins, alongside crew quarters that accommodate up to eight. While full details are yet to be disclosed, Robert Trown and Associates is the studio behind her interiors. On-deck features include a sundeck plunge pool, a sheltered cockpit with stern-facing seating, fixed sunpads on the bow for sunbathing and a beach club with an unfolding transom and opening balconies.
"Having delivered its 100th yacht on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, the shipyard is experiencing the honour of flying the country's flag in international waters," commented a spokesperson for Mengi Yay Yachts.
Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, Ancora can reach a maximum speed of 15.5 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 3,100 nautical miles.
The news comes at a busy time for Mengi Yay, with six yachts currently under construction according to BOATPro. This includes the first two units in its "go anywhere" explorer series, Virtus XP.
