Mark Berryman Design (MBD) has revealed a new concept known provisionally as MBD-87. The 85-metre superyacht has been designed for a repeat client of the studio.
"At the moment, the client has a fleet of boats ranging from 60 to 120 metres," explained a MBD spokesperson, "but now feels that one mid-sized vessel incorporating the things that he loves would be a better option." Once the prospective owner is "completely happy with aesthetics", a shipyard will be chosen to construct MBD-87.
The superyacht has been designed inside and out by the UK studio as they make the move toward exterior design as well as interiors. Accommodation is for 12 guests across four VIP suites and two forward twins. Access to the owner's cabin is forward of the upper deck lobby, which comprises a large office space, bathroom, dressing room and bedroom with "panoramic views". There is also a seventh VIP suite on the deck, also accessed from the lobby.
Meanwhile, the exterior consists of a longitudinal, 14.5-metre pool with large aft Jacuzzi on the deck above, another large Jacuzzi on the top deck and a touch-and-go helipad on the bow. There is also a cinema "tucked away" on the lower deck. Casual, 16-person dining has been arranged on the bridge deck alongside a saloon area.
Each deck will feature large pantries and a dumb waiter that passes through all decks, enabling easy service for crew.
