Damen Yachting has delivered the fifth hull in its Amels 60 series, christened Solaia. The 60-metre yacht is named after a hill and winemaking region in Tuscany.
Solaia was sold in October 2021, with the early entrance of her owner enabling "a number of client customisations" according to Jorrit Pilaar, sales manager at Damen Yachting.
The superyacht features a custom charcoal and white superstructure and lengthened sun and bridge decks courtesy of Espen Øino.
Accommodation is for a total of 12 guests and 13 crew, including an owner's suite with a large balcony, a full-beam en suite and a walk-in closet. Her custom interiors are the work of Ukranian studio OLT Design, who have opted for a "rich terracotta palette" complemented by "graphite shades" to evoke the Tuscan landscape. Finishes include eucalyptus, Macassar ebony, and Tanganyika veneers alongside onyx, Calacatta marble, Cipollino marble, and Nero Marquina marble.
A highlight is the bridge deck saloon, which features a piano, a bar and a cinema setup. Al fresco offerings include the 162-square metre sundeck, arranged with a Jacuzzi, a shaded dining area, a bar, an outdoor kitchen and a grill and the beach club which has a swim platform, sauna and steam shower. There is also ample storage, including capacity for a nine-metre tender.
"Solaia will always be one of our most cherished projects. Collaborating with Amels and their team, whose unwavering commitment to excellence was truly inspiring, has been a privilege," said Tetiana Oliinyk, founder and leading architect of OLT Design. "I would also like to commend my team for their creativity, innovative vision, and meticulous attention to detail. Working on the custom interiors of this yacht for over three years has been an incredible experience for all of us."
According to BOATPro, Amels has 11 yachts currently under construction, including the 80-metre Project Zurich.
The shipyard recently revealed the first interior renderings of Project Tanzanite. Measuring 120 metres, the yacht is currently the largest project in build in the Netherlands and will become the largest Dutch-built motor yacht in the world once delivered.
