The 55 metre Feadship-built superyacht Somnium has been filmed making her way through the Dutch canals to begin sea trials in the North Sea.
It comes after the yacht emerged from the shed for the first time when it was launched last week.
The yacht, which is named after the Latin for “the dream”, is readying for final finishing and sea trials ahead of delivery to its Northern European owner.
Together with his representative Waterman Marine Consultancy, the owner played a key role in the build and made bi-weekly visits to the yard to watch the yacht take shape.
Designed to take three family generations on world cruises, Somnium features “smooth” exterior lines penned by Studio De Voogt.
Inspired by automotive design, the yacht features an aluminium hull, enclosed tender garage and dedicated dive store.
Exterior details include a lounge area at the foredeck, pool with counterflow and an adjustable floor on the aft deck and a “Jacuzzi island” on the sun deck.
The interior, which is penned by FM Architettura, includes a gym with a fold-down platform, full-beam owner’s stateroom and a further four guest suites on the lower deck.
