The 25.6-metre Benetti classic Mi Amor (ex Electa) has been relaunched following a four-month refit at Turkish shipyard FDC Yachts. Mi Amor was delivered in 1973 and designed inside and out by the Italian shipyard.

"Refitting a classic Benetti like Mi Amor presented a unique set of challenges," explained a spokesperson for the shipyard. "[Our] team of skilled craftsmen and engineers approached each step with meticulous care, honouring the yacht's original character while seamlessly integrating modern advancements."

Comprehensive works included replacing the saloon windows with "modern alternatives" for increased natural light, a complete Awlgrip paint job and refinishing of all exterior wood elements.

The forward deck now has steel and wooden cap rail renewals, while the main deck has been refreshed in Burmese teak and renewed deck caulking. Sandblasting of the bottom hull also ensures "a pristine underwater profile" for Mi Amor. On the technical side, the yacht's piping systems have been upgraded.

FDC Yachts is currently converting the 36.6-metre Jura II into a commercially certified vessel, opening up "charter opportunities" for the classic Hall Russell

Other active refits include the 25.7-metre Panta Rhei, which will depart the shipyard with a new interior styled by Diana Yacht Design and the 19-metre Whimbrel which will receive a fresh facade and a brand-new Bimini with integrated solar panels, among other enhancements.

This follows the shipyard's recent collaboration with Red Yacht Design on Project Fiducia 86, a Gentleman-style yacht due for delivery in 2025.
