Evo yachts has pushed the boundaries of boat design with their 13 metre day boat, the Evo 43, which has transforming transom has wings that resemble the Star Wars TIE fighter spacecraft.
The Evo 43 is the first model from Evo Yachts, which was founded in 2015 as part of the Sea Engineering Group. The futuristic day boat was engineered and built in Italy following designs from Studio Tecnico Rivellini.
At the touch of a button the bulwarks open out by 90 centimetres on each side, increasing the deck by 40% to 25 square metres. The stern of the boat transforms into a wide platform that features built in sun loungers for relaxing and even an adjustable diving platform.
The teak cockpit also features a dining table and wet bar along with a foldaway cooking area with stove, sink and fridge. There is a large icebox under the helm seat, while an optional awning or carbon fibre bimini offers respite on hot days.
The hull, built from resin infused fibreglass, has been designed to create a comfortable and efficient ride. The construction method has allowed a weight saving of 20%, helping the Evo 43 to a top speed of 37.1 knots.
The Evo 43 has two Volvo Penta IPS 600 320 kW engines. The interior is offered with custom configurations, but owners can expect space for a double cabin, bathroom and seating/dining area.
Superyacht owners may be enticed into buying the Evo 43 for use as a chase boat and the model is currently for sale at $750,000.
